Today we took a cruise up to Cumberland Island.
This island is actually in Georgia and is the largest of the Sea Islands (chain of 100 islands that stretch from Florida to South Carolina). It is now part of the Cumberland Island National Seashore.
In one area on the cruise we saw tons of pelicans hanging out along the shore...
plus some cormorants
and an egret.
Cumberland Island has a herd of about 150 feral horses. The herd has been on the island for at least a couple of hundred years.
The cruise also took us by Fort Clinch...so we got to see the fort from the water.
